Oppo has officially confirmed the existence of the Reno15 series, after presenting its X9 and X9 Pro a few days ago. The company has revealed through the Chinese social network Weibo that its new range of smartphones will be presented next week, specifically the Monday, November 10at an event in China.
The announcement was made through a short ‘teaser’ video that, although it confirms the name and date, does not show the final design of the terminals. However, despite the brand’s official secrecy, leaks have already begun to reveal what would be its key points.
The well-known leaker Digital Chat Station has shared relevant information about what aims to be the star component of the Reno15: its camera module. According to this source, the rear camera design will use a “cold etching” process (cold carving) for finishing.
200 MP sensor and simultaneous video recording
Regarding hardware specifications, the leak ensures that the Reno15 series will take an important photographic leap by incorporating a 200 megapixel main sensor. This move would align Oppo with other manufacturers that have already adopted ultra-high resolution sensors in their ranges.
In addition to the sensor update, the source mentions a notable new software feature. The new Oppo Reno15, or at least the top models of the series, will allow record video simultaneously using both the rear cameras and the front camera. This is a feature that is increasingly in demand by content creators for video platforms.
At the moment, these are the only details that have emerged about the new family of Oppo devices. We will have to wait for the official presentation on November 10 to find out the final design, the rest of the specifications and if this series will have a global launch outside of China.
