If you want your Eggdrop 1.6.17 to work with IPv6, there is now a patch that will enable you to do so, made by Jerome.
The patch is based on the 1.6.13 patch and can be found for download on Egghelp.

sweet. ipv6 just keeps getting more and more popular for the irc scene.

And not really because the glorious reaons it was designed for... The 'best' reasons i've ever heard were very easy setting of custom hosts, and quickly being able to get a new ip... Not really reasons i'd design ipv6 for.
