William Genovese, 27 an man from Meriden, Conn. has been charged in the case of the Microsoft code theft. On his website www.illmob.org he had snippets of code which came from the leaked source code of Windows NT and 2000.
Genovese offered the code from his website for money. Microsoft have led a third party security firm place an order with him, as did the FBI in July.
If found guilty, he can be convicted to 10 years in prison and pay $250,000 in fines.
We posted on 13 February of this year about the theft when the code popped up in several IRC channels.
