"Versions 2.6.2 for Linux/Unix and 2.6.3 for Windows are out!" we can read on the XChat website.
The windows version has now full Unicode support, and fixed a crash if you have updated UltraEdit (popular shareware text editor) to version 12. More windows changes can be found here.
The *nix version consists of mostly bugfixes and its changelog can be found here.
XChat is a popular opensource IRC client. A while back the author of XChat decided to charge a fee for the windows version to cover for the extra costs he makes to release the binaries. There are free options for the windows build, such as at Silverex, who has not yet released this version.
