I'm katsklaw, real name is confidential Anyway I'm from Oklahoma, USA. got my first computer in 1986, been playing ever since. I've been on IRC for nearly a decade now and an IRCop/Admin for about 8 years. I started on ChatNet then moved to DALnet and was a Services Admin for awhile. I currently own an IRC network.
I shower daily, I wash my hands afterwards *looking at Asmo*. I have a day job(not IRC related). and Ib3N is a clown.

What made you part DALnet and form your own network?
I am glad we share eachothers bathroom secrets!

I never left DAL I've been there since 1997. I just haven't opered there since about 1999. I've opered on several other nets and I tend to help out several IRCd/Services packages with end user support. Such as on the Unreal support forums ... etc. I started my own network so that traditional IRC values can be spread around instead of on 1-2 nets. In my opinion that there are far too many newbie admins that are clueless as to what IRC is really about ... .chatting. not warez, DDoS or any other negitive image that IRC can portray. I have 4 network staff members including myself and combined have nearly 3 decades of experience.
Myself, as a real life supervisor knows how to deal with people and can manage personnel. My co-admin is an old school BBS geek that probably snores in binary and is thinking of releasing his own Linux Distro because none of the current distros meet his standards. I knew he was my tech admin when I found out he quintuple(sp?) boots .. all Linux. The other 2 compliment the staff because of the time zone differences so that there is generally someone always around. I don't tolerate power hungry opers and will weed them out! I don't even op in my own channel most of the time. I solely own u-chat.org and tend to keep it that way. I've seen some very bad things happen when people don't agree and the person that controls the DNS, Services or the domain choose to take it out on the rest of the team. Some call my method power hungry or not a good practice, I say it's the only way I can insure my vision of what IRC means is carried out without having to worry if all the users are suddenly routed to another network.
Anyways .. enough rambling ... well met to all.
