You mean like CGI::IRC?

Well you need CGI/perl on your webspace and the IRC traffic is also (twice the) traffic for the webspace.... Some time ago I used it to connect to IRC from a network where the IRCports were closed. For such applications this is pretty nice Smile

There is CGI:IRC (or the other way around; IRC:CGI), but if I'm not mistaken, then all the usres using that client will end up with a host form the server.

That might not be what you want either.

Possibly, there is a PHP client (something lingers in my memory about a module or something for PHP), but in this case, and all others as well, you might want to try Google =)

In any case, I've seen very nice Java based applets wich work good, and are used in almost all cases to provide IRC chats on websites. Why can't you use a Java based solution for it?

Haha, sebDE and I posted at exact the same time =D

You dont leave yourself many options open if you dont want Java and dont want CGI...

If you want to go ahead with Java, the only FREEware option I know (and I use this myself on some sites) is http://www.pjirc.com/main.php

Your server supports flash xml sockets then you can try flash web chat clients. Here is mine, if you like it: http://sourceforge.net/projects/netbitsflashirc

It is built specifically for Net-Bits.Net FlashIRC server and its protocol, but if you want use it for another server you need to make minor adjustments to the source code.
