Hard to believe this is the first time I've come across this site in all the years I've been on IRC. I guess I don't get around the IRC communities very much.
Anyhow, so this section is about introducing yourself, so let me get to that...
I'm known as 'key' on DALnet and SirvNET. I've been on IRC since '96, with most of that time spent on DALnet. So to get the DALnet politics out of the way, I'm not here to represent the network in any capacity. I'm here for my own enjoyment and to meet others in the IRC community.
As to SirvNET, I am here for the same reasons, but I also want to announce that SirvNET IRC Services are back in the game! I'm sure many of you have exposure to this excellent, feature rich, Services package, and have missed their availabiity over the past few years.
Development fired back up earlier this year and we are expecting to release the first public version on 1 Jan 2006. The original coder remains behind the wheel on this version as with the previous versions. You can expect support for the current Bahamut and Unreal IRCd's. The backend is now SQL based; no more cludgy flatfiles. There are db converters for the old Sirv versions and Anope available for now. Plus, many other excellent features.
We put a small website up to announce that development kicked off, but it otherwise does not contain much feature information at this time. At any rate, you can find us at http://www.sirv.net or /server irc.sirv.net in #sirv.
