OMG, this was just meant to happen at some point in time. A guy from Sweden (who apparently is a known artist there) has written a love song for an IRC bot.
'She's' an IRC bot, and the thing that seems to turn him on is that 'she' can ban, ban so hard!
Be aware of the tune however... A catchy techno theme that too easily sticks into your mind to spoil the rest of your day!

Known and known... I don't know. Maybe after the release of the song...
It's crap however. And it's been said on different forums that most of the song is ripped off other artists.
Also, a picture of him and his ex having sex has been spread on IRC, a Swedish tabloid wrote an article about it too.
Luckily I haven't heard the song yet, and I'd probably kill myself if I did.
Oh yeah, a guy has made a parody/response to the song cause he (perrra) thinks that Basshunter pronounces "bot" wrong.
A lot of clueless people that don't know much about computers think that the song is about a boat named Anna.

It came sorta clear to me that the song is quite known in Scandinavia already... It was new to me, hence the post =D

hi... soli to barge in just like that. I'm a newbie here in this site but not in IRC. If I'm not permitted to comment in this posting, then I sincerely apologised 
I'm glad to have heard the song I think the author singer were very creative to have created a song promoting IRC indirectly. Especially a bot name Anna. For that matter, after hearing the song, I immediatly tried to change one of my bot's nick to Anna ... lolz  But nickserv said : Nick in use .... hehe... ... No choice... changed to AnnaBot .... haha ... lolz 
I dunno bout u guyzs, called me naive or watever but truely it's the 1st time I come acrose a song that has the lyrics : channel, bots, ban, spammers etc.. in it.... 
And the techno music make my leg shaking my hip swaying

It was the unofficial song for the worlds next biggest computerparty in norway The Gathering (http://gathering.org), and the official song for this years collegestudent graduates (Russ) in norway.
Been plauging us since April over here.

Yes, it's been like a real pleague in Norway for the last few months. Can't go to a party without this song being played at LEAST once. Took me a short while before I realized it was actually about a bot, and not a boat (then again, I didn't really listen THAT carefully to the text). I found it to be quite hilarious when I figured it was an IRC bot.
Oh well. It had to come.
