Since I don't think I can post this anywhere else, I was hoping to get asmo's attention without sending him a pirvatemessage that he probbably has a lot of. To me IRC-Junkie doesnt post as much news as it used to, maybe im wrong, but i'd like to see more news about the average IRC networks, etc. Maybe take a poll on what users want to see, because as we all very well know, IRC isn't just about DAL net, EFNet, Undernet, etc etc etc... "For the people!" ;P get back to me Smile

If I would start to post about small IRC networks, trust me, the site would be 99% small networks and for the rest the news would be very hard to find. I try to bring news interesting for practically everybody visiting the site.

About the amount of news: I do my best! Each morning I check wether there is news or not. When theres nothing, I can't post. Also sometimes I simply cant find enough info. Like whats going on with Quakenet right now. I do my best but I cant find info on whats going on *anywhere*.

The first thought that struck me when I saw your post was that hey, although I agree, Asmo has other priorities before IRC-Junkie. He's got little Lucas to take care of now. And knowing that Asmo is training him to become an IRC junkie like the rest of us, it won't be long until we see Lucas on there with some odd nick, like his father, wrecking havoc on Undernet.

Naw. Lucas comes before IRC-Junkie. We wouldn't have it any other way either. But instead of requesting Asmo to do more work, why not try to lessen his work? I think that if IRC-Junkie were to fully bloom like in the good ol' days, we'd have to have more people working with him. Like back when people wrote small manuals and how-to's, people interviewed IRC Operators from networks. Hell, I even still remember when Asmo had that "IRCer of the Month" thingy. Why I remember it? Because I exploited it by using personal assosiates to forward a friend of mine on there. :p

Personally, if I had any idea just what the hell I could do, I would have offered my services to IRC-Junkie. I did once, actually, but unfortuantly my life turned instantly and I suddenly didn't have time. Hardly have time these days as well, but I try to make it by.

I would also like to see more of IRC-Junkie, but for that to happen, we need more volunteer people reporting, writing, posting, designing, coding, scripting, shooting other people and bragging about it... you'know, the ways of life. Wink

Just my thoughts.

Ah thats true, aside form the news I pretty much stopped writing other articles. True thats something I don't have the time for anymore. Writing a decent article takes a few days. And then I mean full days, not an hour or two at nights. Researching, writing several concepts, working it out, first draft, second draft...

Recently Ib3n offered to write for the site as well. News. But he has since completely disappeared, lol.

But if there is anyone wanting to write articles, reviews or news he can get in contact with me. I wont add people as admin straight away on the news, but will ask to write a few stories as privmsgs to me first so I can see whether it fits the style of the site and repost it myself then (with your name under it of course) and if all goes well, add you so you can add straight away.

Lucas is taking lots of time, but luckily far less already then a few months ago, so I have more time to work out news. Nonetheless other articles is a bit hard to find the time for. And full interviews done real time in an IRC chat (as Yeager did) is something I don't have the talent for really. But if anyone here wants to, and is talented to do so...

Asmo i hope you didnt take my post as a bad one, because it wasnt intended to be that way. Is there a way for users to submit news stories to you, or information that may help you finish your stories? maybe a team of little irc-junkies to go around and help find news *shrugs*

heh, i posted the above cuz i didnt read, i kinda felt bad because i thought you took it as a bashing. So, there you go guys, try and find some news out their and write some stuff and PM it to asmo, be sure to make it proper, and even have some of your friends read it first. It could help IRC-Junkie improve its site Smile Thanks again Asmo for bringing us IRC-Junkie.

No system or things setup for new people to write for the site othen then the way I described it above :) Anyone who thinks he has info, leads & contacts and feels like he can write articles is free to write them and PM them too me. After inspection I can post them with your name as the writer of it. When people show they have a constant quality and write in the spirit of IRCJunkie I can add them straight away after a few stories.

And no worries I can take constructive criticism! :)
