Two software updates today;
First is Asuka 1.2.1, consisting of a series of patches on Undernet's ircu IRCd, it will be the next generation IRCd in use on QuakeNet. Among the new features are CIDR channel bans, +ntCN set as standard on new channels, a +R usermode which will block invites and 127.0.0.1 will be returned as standard for all users other then yourself.

Second, there is a security update for the popular freeware Putty SSH client. "PuTTY 0.57, released today, fixes two security holes which can allow a malicious SFTP server to execute code of its choice on a PSCP or PSFTP client connecting to it. We recommend everybody upgrade to 0.57 as soon as possible", the website of Putty announced today.
