AWOL LuxVision projector combines 4K at 120 Hz and optical shift
AWOL presented the LuxVision at the IFA fair in September and has been accepting deposits since the 14th of that month. Therefore, reservations have not been opened today. The commercial information released now allows us to specify how that deposit is transformed into a purchase, what accessories are included in the offer and when the company expects to ship the first equipment.
Optical offset makes placement easier
The LuxVision is an ultra-short throw projector: it creates a large image placed close to the wall or screen. His projection ratio is 0.18:1 and AWOL indicates that it can display a 120 inch image with the lens at about 7.5 inchesapproximately 19 centimeters, from the projection surface. The distance corresponds to the lens, a detail that is important when calculating how much space the device will take up on a piece of furniture.
The most striking feature is the vertical displacement of the optics. The manufacturer specifies a range of offset from 142% to 152%. By moving the optical system, the height of the image can be adjusted without cropping or rescaling through digital correction. This can make installation easier if the screen is fixed at a certain height, although it is still necessary to check the measurements of the room and the furniture before purchasing.
AWOL announces a projection size from 80 to 200 inches. This range does not guarantee the same apparent luminosity in all sizes. The projector includes auto-alignment and keystone correction, but these features are also no substitute for proper placement.
4K resolution and 120 Hz input to output
The manufacturer declares 4K compatibility at 120 Hz both in the input and in the projected image. This precision differentiates the specification from other products capable of receiving a 4K signal at 120 Hz and then displaying at a lower frequency. For gaming, AWOL lists variable refresh rate, automatic low latency mode and Dolby Vision Gaming support. It also advertises an input latency of 1 ms at 4K and 120 Hz; It is a manufacturer’s figure that will require independent measurement to know its exact condition.
The light source of this projector uses three RGB lasers and has a claimed brightness of 6,000 ISO lumens. Its advertised color coverage reaches 110% of Rec. 2020. Image size, screen and room lighting also influence the result.
For cinema, the sheet includes HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, Dolby Vision and IMAX Enhancedalong with dynamic iris and dynamic tone mapping. AWOL indicates a relationship of native contrast of 10,000:1 with iris and another of 100,000:1 with its EBL system. They are measurements presented using different methods, so it is not advisable to treat them as equivalent figures.
Connectivity includes three HDMI 2.1, one DisplayPort, Gigabit Ethernet, two USB and WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 wireless connections. The integrated system is Google TV, based on Android 14. The listing also mentions a feature to display up to four sources, but AWOL clarifies that MultiView is a paid upgrade and is not part of the standard configuration.
Deposit, price and shipping dates

The reservation campaign works with a $100 refundable deposit until November 2. Starting on the 3rd, subscribers will receive a link to choose the version of LuxVision, the screen included among the eligible options and additional improvements. The deposit is deducted from the final amount. The window to complete the purchase ends November 18; AWOL notes that unused deposits will be automatically returned after that period.
AWOL announced in its presentation a price of 5,999 euros for Europe and 4,999 pounds for the United Kingdom. Its reservation website indicates that the prices shown for the European Union include VAT and includes shipments to eligible European countries, although the configuration and final amount must be checked for each destination. The company plans to begin shipments at the end of November, giving priority to the order in which final purchases are completed. At the moment it has not published a specific delivery date for Spain.
