DroidDeck runs Steam for Windows games natively on Android devices
Steam continues to expand to more devices, although this time it is not from Valve. The project is capable of run games from this popular store locally on Android devices. As an example, it has been possible to achieve the 60 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 with graphics set to medium, although other more demanding games have had to use FSR to reach an average of 40 FPS. The application is called DroidDeck and use the power of Snapdragon SoC to run the games through the Valve client.
DroidDeck allows you to play Steam titles natively on Android
The difference with current solutions is that it is not necessary to broadcast from another device, but rather DroidDeck runs them natively on the device itself. For this, Steam is run in mode Big Picturein its version for Linux ARM64and the games receive the compatibility layer Proton ARM64. Another advantage is that it is not necessary to change the operating system or root access as with other solutions.
DroidDeck requirements: Android 9 and an Adreno 730 GPU or higher
DroidDeck is capable of handling even GPU driver switching, scaling technologies like AMD FSR and Snapdragon GSR. To function it is necessary Android 9 or higherand requires a GPU Adreno 730 or higheralthough currently the Adreno series 6 is in the experimental phase. However, Mali, Xclipse, PowerVR and the Adreno 710 itself are not supported GPUs.
