A new cyber attack on freezers, this time at the blood bank in France

In recent weeks, the target of hackers has been supermarket chains, but how can someone with not very good intentions screw up a grocery store? Through freezers, hackers have managed to program the temperature to raise it up to 30 degrees or more causing losses of up to 360,000 euros in the latest attack carried out on a well-known German supermarket chain. But this has not remained that way, now they have set their objective on the national blood service of france.

Hackers try to raise the temperature of blood stored in France

A new cyberattack has attempted to raise the temperature of -30º C at which the blood was stored up to a goal of 110º C. Fortunately on this occasion there were no losses, since an operator on duty noticed the increase in temperature and was able to stop this attack. Hackers have tried to damage this bank, which stores blood and even plasma at -30ºC, through a subcontractor called Coolworld.

Cyberattacks on freezers put blood and plasma at risk

The trend of computerize everything has made this type of attack possible, which without a human supervisor would have ended in tragedy as in the freezers of French and German supermarkets in recent weeks. Perhaps this should put this type of technology on alert, and enable additional security measures to avoid the loss of thousands of euros that they have obtained from the supermarkets, but which could escalate to catastrophe if they manage to destroy all this blood and plasma in France.
