Would you pay 1,337 euros for a gaming mouse? At Razer they are convinced that yes

Razer has confirmed the price of its Boomslang 20th Anniversary Edition, and the figure leaves no one indifferent: 1,337 euros. The number deliberately coincides with the units that the company will manufacture, a nod to the leet code that for years has been emblematic of gamer culture. Reservations will open on February 11 at 8:00.

This mouse is the reissue of the first gaming peripheral that existed 25 years ago, a device that at the time sold for just $100, according to publications The Verge. The price difference reflects both the technological update and the collectible edition nature that Razer wants to imprint on the product. With such a limited circulation, the company is committed to turning the Boomslang into a piece for enthusiasts willing to pay for exclusivity and nostalgia.

The original Boomslang, called Kärna Razer Boomslang, appeared before gaming-specific peripherals were even an established category. It differed from the rest by incorporating an improved coding wheel that offered more precise trackingsomething that gave a real competitive advantage to those who used it. Now, the 20th anniversary edition replaces those mechanical components with current high-end technology.

The new model mounts the second generation Razer Focus Pro 45K optical sensor, capable of reaching 45,000 DPI. This figure allows you to adjust the sensitivity with millimeter precision depending on the type of game, the surface or the way you hold it. In addition, it incorporates HyperPolling technology with a wireless polling rate of 8,000 Hz, which reduces communication delay with the computer to levels that only matter in the most demanding competition.

The ambidextrous and symmetrical design of the original is maintained, but now it works wirelessly and is accompanied by a Razer Mouse Dock Proa specific wireless charging base for this model. The fourth generation optical switches promise a lifespan of up to 100 million clicks, ensuring that the click sensation remains firm even after years of intensive use.

RGB, synthetic leather and total customization

The 9-zone RGB lighting is compatible with Razer Chroma and can sync with over 300 different games. The translucent body that let light out in the model from 25 years ago is updated with configurable effects, colors and animations. The main buttons are covered with synthetic leatheran unusual finish that seeks to improve grip during long sessions and offer a different feel than conventional plastic.

The mouse includes eight programmable controls that are managed from Razer Synapse, allowing you to create macros, assign specific functions for different games or configure profiles for work and editing. Razer, as we already explained to you at the end of 2025, wants each numbered unit to function as a bridge between gaming’s past and current technology.
