Netflix announces Playground, a specific app for children without ads or additional costs
Netflix, the popular movie and series streaming service, has presented Netflix Playgrounda new application integrated into your subscription and Aimed at children up to 8 years old.
The software allows you to play with characters from series such as Peppa Pig or “Sesame Street”, but without showing ads or subscriptions with additional costs.
The app is now ready for download in countries like the US, Australia, Canada, the Philippines, New Zealand and the UK. It is not yet available in Spain, but the company plans a global rollout for April 28, so it won’t take too long.
Netflix ensures that children’s content is one of the most viewed genres on the platform, with six of its ten most popular titles between 2023 and 2025 belonging to this category.
Parental control tools for managing child profiles
In this app, Netflix maintains its management system based on individual profiles with customizable “maturity” levels. The tools allow blocking specific content using a PIN code, accessing viewing history and restricting access to adult profiles.
The app is accessible and works with WiFi or mobile data. It will show both games and children’s series.
