AOC launches two very affordable 144 Hz QHD monitors for those who work and play on the same desk

AOC has decided to raise the bar for its B3 series, a line of products traditionally focused on office automation and home use, introducing features that are usually reserved for the sector. gaming. The new models, called Q24B36X and Q27B36Xseek to blur the border between the office monitor and the entertainment monitor, offering a very attractive technical combination: QHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels) along with a refresh rate of 144 Hz (no, it is not the 1000 Hz that the brand promised for 2026).

Historically, users on a tight budget had to choose between panels with good resolution for productivity or fast screens for gaming. This proposal attempts to cover both needs without increasing the cost. By integrating panels with IPS technology and a response time of 0.5ms (MPRT)these monitors promise crisp text for spreadsheets and fluid movements for competitive games at the end of the work day. They are, in essence, hybrid computers for today’s student or remote worker.

Fair connectivity, but with image quality

The most compact model is the 23.8-inch Q24B36X, which stands out for its high pixel density (123 ppi), ideal for small desktops. Its older brother, the 27-inch Q27B36X, offers a larger panel with 109 ppi. In terms of color, both models exceed 100% sRGB coverage and are close to 90% in DCI-P3, which ensures more than acceptable visual fidelity for multimedia consumption. In addition, they include support for HDR10 and a maximum brightness of 300 nits, enough for bright interiors.

At a functional level, AOC has included Adaptive-Sync technology to eliminate the tearing and eye protection systems such as Flicker-Free and blue light reduction. The design maintains the reduced frames of the series and allows tilt adjustment, in addition to being compatible with VESA 100×100 supports. Connectivity is fair, with an HDMI 2.0 port, a DisplayPort 1.4 and a headphone output.

These monitors will be available from January 2026. Although the manufacturer has provided official prices in pounds sterling (£109 for the 24-inch model and £129 for the 27-inch), it is very likely that the conversion to the European market will maintain numerical parity, standing around 109 and 129 euros respectively.
