Colorful launches iGame B850M Ultra motherboards for AMD Ryzen with PCIe 5.0, Wi-Fi 7 and two memory configurations
The Colorful firm has announced its new family of Micro-ATX motherboards for AMD Ryzen processors within the AM5 ecosystemwith two models that share a format but are committed to different philosophies depending on the type of user they are aimed at. The iGame B850M Ultra series comes with the AMD B850 chipset as a base and compatibility with Ryzen 9000 Series processors, including the highest-performance X3D models in gaming.
The two models that make up this family are the iGame B850M ULTRA-S and the iGame B850M ULTRA-OC. Both share a completely matte black finish, a design designed to visually fit with the iGame GeForce RTX 50 ULTRA series graphics cards that Colorful itself markets. Beyond the aesthetic aspect, the two boards incorporate PCIe 5.0, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity as standard, but their internal differences are significant and respond to different use profiles.
The ULTRA-S, designed for those who need maximum capacity and stability
The iGame B850M ULTRA-S is the variant aimed at those who prioritize robustness in power delivery and maximum memory capacity. It has a 14+2+1 phase power system with 80 amp MOSFETs, powered by two 8-pin connectors for the CPU, allowing it to smoothly manage the most demanding Ryzen processors under continuous load.
As for memory, it incorporates four reinforced DDR5 slots with capacity for up to 256 GB in total, with support for AMD EXPO profiles of up to DDR5-8400. For storage, it has three M.2 slots (two with PCIe 5.0 x4 interface and one PCIe 4.0 x4), all of them equipped with quick-release heatsinks that do not require tools to remove. On the back, it includes a USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C port, 2.5 Gb Ethernet, and ARGB headers to synchronize the system lighting.
The ULTRA-OC, designed to squeeze memory

The iGame B850M ULTRA-OC makes a design decision that is not common in Micro-ATX format boards and that deserves attention: reduces the number of memory slots to two instead of four. The reason is technical: with only two DIMM slots, track routing is cleaner and signal integrity is significantly improved, resulting in greater stability when pushing the memory beyond its base specifications.
The result is that the ULTRA-OC reaches memory speeds of up to DDR5-8800 in manual overclock (DDR5-8400 using AMD EXPO profiles), surpassing its older sister in this specific section. The board incorporates a 10+2+1 phase power system with 60 amp DrMOS, enough to power chips like the Ryzen 9 9950X3D or Ryzen 7 9850X3D without compromising stability. The wired network goes up to 5 Gb Ethernet, and storage is expanded to four M.2 slots with a combination of PCIe 5.0 and 4.0 interfaces.
Shared features that make assembly easier
Beyond their differences, both boards include a series of solutions that Colorful has implemented to make building a PC more comfortable. The PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for the graphics card incorporates a Quick release mechanism that greatly simplifies the removal of heavy and large cardsa common problem with latest generation GPUs. M.2 slots also work without screws thanks to the M.2 Quick Latch anchoring system, which allows you to install or remove storage drives without the need for a screwdriver.
Wireless connectivity is identical in both models: WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 integrated as standard, without the need to add external adapters. This is a plus in Micro-ATX configurations where space inside the chassis is usually tighter and each additional PCIe slot counts.
With these two new models, Colorful continues to expand its presence in the motherboard market for AMD’s AM5 platform. The proposal is clear: two differentiated options that address the same format but from different angles, allowing the user to choose according to whether they prioritize memory capacity, stability under high load or overclocking potential at RAM frequencies. The fact that both boards are visually designed to integrate with the rest of the company’s ULTRA line also makes it easier to build rigs with a cohesive aesthetic.
Regarding prices and availability, Colorful has not published specific figures at a global level.
