Google brings its new smart speaker with Gemini to Spain: It costs 119.99 euros and you will have to pay a monthly subscription to use it
After announcing them a year ago, Google’s new “smart” speaker, called Google Home, is now available to reserve in Spain through its official website.
This is the company’s first speaker that has been prepared from scratch to work with its Gemini artificial intelligence assistant, which is integrated as standard into the device to establish conversations without pauses or intermediate commands.
The design follows the rounded shape of this type of device, although with some flattening on the upper and lower surfaces to differentiate itself a little from the Alexa Echo Dot. However, it includes an LED lighting ring at the base that is quite reminiscent of the platform of its main competitor, which has already integrated Alexa+ with AI in its devices.
The new Google Home maintains a design with a 3D textile manufacturing process that uses “37% recycled materials.” In the sound section, it has a 360-degree audio configuration, aimed at uniform distribution of sound in the room or environment. The base of the device has a physical switch at the bottom to completely disconnect the microphone for greater privacy.

Although the price in the US is $99, in Spain Google will make it a little more expensive and all those who want to get this speaker with Gemini will have to pay 119.99 euros.
Google wants to charge a monthly subscription for the use of this speaker with Gemini
Google has decided that users who want to use this device with Gemini, in addition to paying 119.99 euros, will have to subscribe and pay more per month. You will be able to choose between two Google Home Premium rates: On the one hand, the version standard (€10/month) adds access to Gemini Livewhich allows you to exchange ideas, review agendas or automate household tasks through conversations in natural language. On the other hand, the version Advanced (€18/month) adds home security functions, such as a specific search in the video history of Nest cameras and detailed summaries of the activity detected in the home during our absence.
At launch, Google is offering a 6-month trial of the Standard plan.
