Snapdragon START platform allows companies to launch AI glasses quickly and at low cost
Next to the processor for mixed reality Snapdragon Reality EliteQualcomm has presented at the Augmented World Expo (AWE 2026) its Snapdragon START (Scalable Turnkey AI-Ready Toolkit) program, a platform that includes hardware, software and connection to the cloud so that any manufacturer can launch smart glasses and AI wearables in a simple and economical way, saving costs and research and development or engineering times.
The strategy is to offer base designs with already integrated capabilities and support for AI natively.
The physical part of the program Snapdragon START It consists of modules where the latest Snapdragon chipsets are combined, with secondary chips for other specific tasks integrated in the smallest possible space. The client will be able to choose what they need and have a base model ready, in a simple, fast and scalable way.
In the software part, both software for the device and applications for smartphones to which they will connect are offered, and also the AI part in the cloud. Naturally, it is optimized for Snapdragon modules and can be adapted for use with different AI systems and community developments.
Snapdragon START is supported by companies such as Pegatron, Thundercomm, Jorjin and Avegant, among others.
