Nintendo has confirmed the price increase of its current console, the Switch 2, in Spain. Starting September 1, that is, in a week, lThe Japanese company’s convertible console will cost about 500 euros.
Specifically, from the current price of 469.99 euros, users who want to get the device will have to pay 499.99 euros. An increase that follows the current market trend to impact on consumers the supply problems of electronic components caused by the artificial intelligence fever.
Sales of the Nintendo Switch 2 have fallen by more than 34%
In fact, in Nintendo’s latest financial results, a decrease of 34.4% has been seen in the sale of the Nintendo Switch 2, something that this price increase will not help to overcome.
Nintendo finds itself in a somewhat delicate situation with its Switch 2, a console that hit the market more than a year ago and that, to this day, still suffers from a catalog of AAA titles like the one the competition has. At the exclusive and triple A level, the vast majority depend on Nintendo’s own franchises, such as Mario Kart World or Donkey Kong Bananza, covering a large part of the catalog with games that were already available for the previous version.
