Acer presents a 5G router for 128 devices and a USB-C modem up to 3.27 Gbps

Acer has taken advantage of its next@acer conference prior to IFA 2026 to expand its connectivity catalog with two 5G devices. He Acer Connect X6ES turns a mobile connection into a network for homes or small offices, while the Acer Connect D5P Provides 5G access to a laptop via USB-C.

Acer had already shown devices called Connect X6E Plus and Connect D5 Pro with similar approaches. The current announcement uses the names X6ES and D5P, incorporates their technical sheets and establishes the European launch. The company does not clarify whether they are definitive versions of those revised models or products, so it is advisable to use only the new specifications.

The Acer Connect X6ES combines 5G and a WAN connection

The X6ES is a CPE router compatible with 5G NR, 4G LTE and 3G WCDMA networks. You can use the mobile connection as your primary access or combine it with a wired WAN line. Its intelligent switching selects the available link and maintains service through 5G when the fixed connection fails.

To distribute access, use WiFi 6E with 4×4 MIMO and the 6 GHz band. Supports up to 128 devices simultaneous, a figure suitable for homes with numerous connected equipment and small professional installations. Acer has not provided the maximum wireless speed or bands supported by its 5G modem.

On the back it incorporates two Gigabit Ethernet connections, divided between a WAN port and another LAN. It also has USB-C, 12V and 3A power, Nano SIM slot and WPS button to associate devices without entering the password.

The system uses OpenWRT and has 1 GB of LPDDR4 memory and 512 MB of eMMC storage. Its configuration and monitoring are done from a browser. Security options include WPA2 and WPA3 encryption, firewall, SIM card lock, and VPN support.

All hardware is integrated into a 101 × 101 × 206 millimeter vertical white casing. The advertised weight is 930 grams, with a margin of ten grams, so it is designed to remain installed and connected to its adapter.

The Connect D5P brings a 5G connection directly to USB-C

The D5P adopts a much smaller format. This modem connects via USB-C 3.0 to laptops and other compatible devices, providing access to mobile networks without sharing a phone connection. Acer announces USB-C tethering on Windows, macOS, ChromeOS and Linux.

One of its distinctive features is the compatibility with Nano SIM, eSIM and vSIM. It also includes a preloaded eSIM profile for easy connection in supported regions. The availability of the service, its rates and coverage will depend on the operator and the country.

The theoretical speeds of download reaches 3.27 Gbps when you use a standalone or SA 5G network. In NSA installations, which combine 4G and 5G infrastructure, the announced maximum drops to 2.77 Gbps. Actual performance will depend on coverage, congestion and contracted service.

Inside it incorporates 2 GB of LPDDR4X memory and 32 GB of eMMC storage. Acer also lists WPA and WPA2 encryption, firewall, and SIM locking among its security measures, although it hasn’t detailed the management options available.

The black casing measures 102.7 × 51 × 16.7 millimeters and weighs 80 grams, with a tolerance of ten grams. It is powered by a 5V 3A USB-C connection and easily fits into a laptop accessory bag.

The Acer Connect X6ES will be available in the EMEA region during the first quarter of 2027 with a starting price of 299 euros. The Connect D5P will arrive in the same period from 249 euros. Acer has not yet specified the launch day, the operators compatible with the preloaded eSIM profile or the possible differences between countries.
