Phanteks launches the EX5 cases from 109.90 euros with chamber architecture and liquid cooling with hidden tubes

If we talk about computer cases, we can say that we live in the era of fish tanks. Jokes aside, for some time now, the designs have become quite clonic. That is why Phanteks, a brand that also stands out for its professional products, has decided to distance itself from this trend with its new line of EX5 chassis, which is now officially on sale.

And how do you intend to escape the stereotype of a computer box that we have been carrying for years? Your big bet is to return to an internal structure divided into compartments. The underlying idea is quite simple, namely, bringing fresh air directly to the components that suffer the most without forcing us to saturate the interior with dozens of additional fans. By doing so, the final design is radically different from what is on the market, as you can see in the images.

Fresh air where it is really needed

This organization by isolated thermal zones is key to taking advantage of natural dissipation and not blowing up the budget on auxiliary cooling, even when we mount very powerful equipment. There is a very interesting design detail, and it is the inclusion of a fan located just behind the motherboard. Its mission is to directly cool the power delivery area and the RAM memory, also helping to evacuate the residual heat released by the graphics card before it heats up the rest of the parts.

When it comes to physical space, the EX5 is well served. Accept graphics cards up to 358 millimeters long and incorporates a server grade retention bracket. The latter is a lifesaver to prevent heavier models from ending up bending the PCIe slot on the board. Completing the technical sheet, we have space for radiators of up to 360 millimeters, optimized cable glands, ARGB details and a very modern front panel: a 20 Gbps USB-C port flanked by two conventional USB 3.0.

Three equipment levels

Someone at Phanteks has remembered that there are many types of budgets. For this reason, they have decided to divide this family into three versions. The starting point is the standard EX5 modelthe classic empty chassis so you can build your own cooling system, which comes for 109.90 euros. The next step is EX5 PLUSwhich for 159.90 euros already includes the liquid cooling kit Glacier One 360S25-SE. This heatsink stands out for hiding the tubes at the back to leave a much cleaner assembly and unify all your fans with a single cable.

At the top of the catalog we find the EX5 MAX variant. With a price of 229.90 euros, this model has an integrated 6-inch high-resolution screen, ideal for monitoring hardware temperatures in real time or simply playing animations.

As a final note, for those who are only interested in improving their current equipment, Phanteks will sell the Glacier One liquid kit separately for 79.90 euros. Without a doubt, this seemed like a smart move for those looking for an orderly and efficient setup without having to spend their salary on extras.
