A space reserved for usernames appears in the latest beta of WhatsApp, the application prepares to improve its privacy
In terms of instant messaging there are practically two eternal rivals, we are talking about WhatsApp or Telegram. The first has a large company behind it that has other successful businessesthe second appeared as a safer and more reliable alternativewith a cloud-based synchronization system that many users liked. But WhatsApp is still the main one, even though it is necessary to give your phone number to be able to establish communication, something that has not been necessary since the beginning in Telegram.

But it seems that WhatsApp will soon introduce one of the features that make Telegram more secure and reliable, usernames. With this, it would no longer be necessary to provide your phone number to other users who want to talk to you on WhatsApp, something that has been the case since the popular Meta messaging application was launched. WhatsApp has introduced some changes about it in the latest version betawhere you have enabled the options in the menu to reserve a username.
In the latest beta version there is a section available to reserve your username
Usernames will have some peculiarities such as not starting with www., which must contain at least one letter, and is only allowed to be composed of numbers and lowercase letters, although it may also be use periods and underscore (_). At the moment, it seems that this beta feature is only available for Android users.
A feature that, finally, will increase privacy and security on WhatsAppalthough it seems that it has arrived a little late. At the moment it is not known when this new function may be available to all users.
