Apple brings its artificial intelligence to China, but without Siri AI
Still far from having Apple’s new intelligent assistant known as Siri AI in Europethe guys from Cupertino have made it soon available in China. This is thanks to an agreement Apple with Alibaba in which it will replace the Google Gemini model that is used in other locations, with Alibaba’s artificial intelligence using its models Qwen and Tongyi Wanxiang.
Apple Intelligence will come to China with Alibaba AI models
Alibaba has these two models, where qwen is a general purpose Artificial Intelligence model that will be used in most of the functions of Apple Intelligence. Despite this, Apple Intelligence will have some restrictions in the Chinese market, such as Siri AI that will not be part initially of this availability of Apple’s AI in the Asian country. Text generation will also be restricted in some applications due to local regulations.
Besides, Tongyi Wanxiang is used to generate images and videofulfilling its function in this section within Apple Intelligence. Here again local regulations in China will also prevent another of the Apple Intelligence functions from being available, we are talking about Image Playground.
iOS 27.3 will bring Apple Intelligence to China, but without Siri AI
According to Mark Gurman, Apple Intelligence for China will be available with the next iOS 27.3 updatescheduled for next December, although without the presence of Siri AI. It seems that China cannot expect the presence of this intelligent assistant from Apple soon either, a delay that joins that of the European Union while users in USA They can enjoy the full features of Apple Intelligence using the same product as in other locations.
