ASUS presents the ExpertBook A7: 3K OLED, Ryzen AI and 1.2 kg weight
ASUS has presented the 14-inch ExpertBook A7a professional laptop with AMD Ryzen AI 300 processors, 2,880 × 1,800 pixel OLED screen and an aluminum chassis that starts at 1.2 kg. The firm announces a minimum thickness of 10 mm and up to 21 hours of autonomy, a figure obtained in an internal video playback test, not during a real work day.
The new model combines two processor options, integrated LPDDR5X memory, and several enterprise-oriented security features. ASUS has not yet communicated the price, launch markets or an availability date in Spain. The cover note describes the equipment, but those commercial terms are still pending.
A metal chassis measuring one centimeter at its thinnest point
The ExpertBook A7 uses a CNC machined 6000 series aluminum alloy frame. ASUS indicates that the assembly leaves separations of up to 0.05 mm between pieces. It will be sold in Lunar Silver and Eclipse Black finishes, although the company has not clarified whether both will be available in all countries.
Its published dimensions are 311.1 × 214.99 mm, with a thickness ranging from 10 to 11.85 mm. The weight starts at 1.2kg and may vary with configuration. It is important to distinguish this minimum from a valid measurement for any version: ASUS does not detail how much the units weigh with the different screens or processors.
The manufacturer declares a 65 Wh battery and up to 21 hours of use. The fine print makes the test concrete: a computer with Ryzen AI 5, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB SSD played local Full HD video, with the brightness and volume at 50% and wired headphones. Navigation, video calls or demanding applications may give different results. ASUS also announces a 50% charge in 30 minutes, although it describes this figure as theoretical and warns that it depends on the conditions of use.
3K OLED screen with two finishes
The screen measures 14 inches, adopts 16:10 format and offers 2,880 × 1,800 pixels. ASUS contemplates a bright OLED variant and another with optional anti-reflective treatment. In both cases, the technical sheet indicates a variable frequency from 48 to 120 Hz100% DCI-P3 space coverage and up to 600 nits brightness in HDR.
The panel appears as validated by Pantone, with a Delta E lower than one declared by ASUS and DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification. These are data from the manufacturer’s file; They are not a substitute for an independent measurement of color accuracy or sustained brightness. The frames leave, according to ASUS tests, a screen-to-body ratio of 90%.
Ryzen AI 5 or Ryzen AI 7 and integrated memory
The announced configurations include the processors AMD Ryzen AI 5 330 and Ryzen AI 7 345with integrated graphics Radeon 820M or Radeon 840M. ASUS figures in up to 50 TOPS the theoretical performance of the NPU in the top option and classify the laptop as Copilot+ PC. It has not published comparable proprietary sustained performance tests for these configurations.
The LPDDR5X memory is integrated on the board and will be offered with 12 or 16 GB. Storage uses one slot M.2 2230 with PCIe SSD up to 512 GB. These are limits to the configurations included in the announcement, not a guarantee that all processor, screen and memory combinations will reach each market.

In connectivity it incorporates two USB4 Type-C ports with DisplayPort 1.4 charging and video output, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, HDMI 2.1b TMDS, and audio combo jack. The wireless part is provided by WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4. ASUS adds a Full HD camera, two 2W speakers and a haptic touch panel with a glass surface. Their claim that this offers three times the accuracy comes from an internal comparison with standard Windows laptop touch panels.
The brand groups its protection functions under the name ExpertGuardian. The listing lists a discrete TPM 2.0, power button-integrated fingerprint reader with FIDO2 authentication, Kensington Nano slot, and NIST SP 800-193 compliant BIOS protection. The device supports Windows 11 Home or Pro and comes with the Secured-core PC framework. The company promises five years of security updates for BIOS and drivers.
For now, ASUS has not announced a price or sales date for Spain. The actual autonomy, the weight of each configuration and the behavior of the screen will remain pending tests on commercial units.
