Chery opens reserves of Mobo, its 90-centimeter domestic humanoid
AiMOGA Roboticsthe robotics brand of the Chery group, Mobo has presented at an event held in Wuhu, China, and has opened international reservations for the product. The robot measures 90 centimeters and has 22 degrees of freedom to walk and perform other body movements. The company guides you to daily interaction within the home.
Mobo had already appeared at previous fairs, including the World Robot Conference. The novelty of this October 21 is the commercial presentation and the opening of the reservation period. It does not mean that there are units delivered in all markets or that the sales conditions in Spain are known.
Conversation, memory and object recognition
The brand describes a system capable of maintaining conversations, recognizing objects with cameras and remembering information associated with family members. Proposed uses include queries about nearby objects, user-set reminders, and conversation or learning activities with children. AiMOGA also mentions stories and accompanying functions for seniors.
He MoAgent software interprets requests, organizes steps and plans tasks. The company claims that it combines immediate responses with longer plans and that it can resume an activity after an interruption. In his presentation he attributed to Mobo the ability to manage 16 tasks in parallel and respond to interruptions in less than 0.2 seconds. These are figures communicated by the manufacturer; There is still no independent test that allows them to be transferred to all domestic uses.
Spatial memory links what the robot detects at that moment with previous observations. AiMOGA relates it to object searches and task tracking. Its navigation is also designed to identify the movement of people and adjust the trajectory when sharing space with them. The brand has not published a sheet that allows a complete assessment of its autonomy, speed or operating limits.
A companion robot, not a proven home assistant
The announced functions focus on verbal interaction, prompts, visual recognition and scrolling. Demonstrating a robot walking or talking does not in itself prove that it can pick up laundry, clean, or provide personal care. AiMOGA presents the product as a family companion and aims to receive feedback from a first group of users about daily use.
The device uses different layers of memory to retain data about events, experiences and interactions. The manufacturer assures that links access to each user through facial recognition. It also claims that any data that may be sent to its cloud service is anonymized and reviewed on the robot itself before transfer. Neither external evidence of these privacy controls nor sufficient details have been published to evaluate their application in all markets.
AiMOGA places Mobo within a broader portfolio that includes robots for reception, healthcare environments and cargo transportation. The accumulated sales that the company attributes to its robots do not correspond exclusively to this domestic model. Therefore, they should not be used as an indicator of deliveries or effective demand for Mobo.
The manufacturer has announced conversation functions in more than twenty languages. This also does not clarify which languages will be available in all units from the first shipment or how reminders and services will be adapted in each country. The international offer will need to specify support, guarantee and data processing for each market before being able to value the product as a domestic purchase.
The international opening of reservations does not by itself set the price of the equipment. The brand has not yet communicated the full price, delivery schedule or specific availability for Spain. Nor has it published official conditions of a possible reserve signal.
