Gigabyte officially launches its X870 AORUS Infinity, a motherboard focused on overclocking for AM5

Gigabyte has finally launched its new motherboard X870 AORUS Infinity, a model that thus joins the AORUS Infinity family of products that the brand has created to celebrate its 40th anniversary, with products that include, among others, the Infinity series of GPUs based on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50.

This model is one of Gigabyte’s top of the range for hardware enthusiasts and overclockers. In fact, it has been designed taking into account test systems and “benchtables”, with details such as the lateral placement of the power supply connectors (24 pins or the two 8 pins, in addition to an 8-pin PCIe connector to power 65W fast charging in the USB-C) or measurement points to control voltages manually.

For the rest, we have the AM5 socket for AMD processors integrated into a 10-layer PCB with a system of 22 VRM phases of which 18 are for the CPU. These phases feature 110 A DrMOS MOSFets along with tantalum capacitors.

Includes two PCI Express 5.0 x16 (16 lanes shared between the two), two M.2 with PCIe 5.0 x4 and supports only two memory slotswith one slot for each channel, due to its clear use towards overclocking, an environment where few modules are usually used to maximize stability. Also striking is the use of PS/2 ports for mouse and keyboard, something anachronistic for many PCs, but which may make sense in OC systems where many components on the board are disabled.

USB4 connectivity, USB 3.2 Gen 2×2, WiFi 7 and Ethernet 5 GbE are the most notable elements among the rest of the specifications.

At the moment, we do not know its price in Spain.
