Google reduces AI Plus to 4.99 euros per month in Spain and reinforces its commitment to combining Gemini with storage
Google has updated the price of Google AI Plus and has placed it at 4.99 euros per month. That represents a considerable reduction compared to the previous 7.99 euros. In fact, the new price is even more interesting if we take into account that the change also comes with a significant improvement in the included storage, which goes from 200 GB to 400 GB. Not bad, Google.
The update reinforces one of the ideas with which the company is promoting its subscription offer. And it is no longer just about selling access to Gemini, but about combining artificial intelligence, storage and everyday services within the same package. In this case, the 400 GB can be used in Google Photos, Drive and Gmail. As usual, they can also be shared with up to five people.
According to the information provided by the company, the plan includes twice higher usage limits than without a Google AI subscription, access to the Gemini Flash Thinking model, Gemini features in Gmail, plus access to NotebookLM and benefits in Google Flow, the creative tool linked to Google video models.
A more aggressive plan within Google’s offer
The comparison shown by Google shows better how this change fits. Above this new AI Plus appear Google AI Plus 2 TB for 9.99 euros per month and Google AI Pro 5 TB, which for three months remains at 5.49 euros per month in promotion and then rises to 21.99 euros. Those plans add more storage, more access to Gemini and other additional benefits within the company’s ecosystem.
Below there is still a classic storage plan, that of 100 GB without AI quota increasedesigned for those who just want additional space without paying for advanced Gemini features. That allows Google to maintain a fairly clear ladder between basic storage, mixed subscription with AI and more complete plans aimed at intensive users.
In this context, AI Plus gains appeal because it falls into a price range that is easier to justify for many users. By 4.99 euros per monthGoogle offers not only more margin of use in Gemini, but also 400 GB for apps that are already part of the daily lives of millions of people. This detail makes an important difference compared to other services focused solely on access to an assistant or a specific model.
Google reinforces its advantage in storage and ecosystem
The most interesting part is that Google competes here with a proposal that mixes AI, cloud and productivity tools instead of limiting yourself to a premium chatbot. For many users, paying a monthly fee for Gemini can be a complicated decision, especially if it is seen as mere access to AI. The equation changes when that same quota includes additional space for photos, email and files, as well as direct integration with Gmail or NotebookLM.
Another point is that Google is also trying to give more creative weight to the plan with Flow, which it describes as a tool designed to create cinema-quality videomaintain consistency between results and more easily organize ingredients and instructions within the workflow. It’s not the focus of the announcement, but it does help present AI Plus as more than just an extension of use in Gemini.
With this reduction, Google adjusts one of its most visible plans to make its entry into the field of paid AI more competitive. AI Plus drops price, doubles storage and gains practical valuerelying on an asset that rivals such as OpenAI or Anthropic cannot offer. The most difficult thing now is to know if users are really paying for AI or simply extra storage.
