Meta presents VR Glasses, weighing only 100 grams and looking like sunglasses, they include 120 Hz micro-OLED screens

Meta continues to advance to offer alternatives to virtual reality, with a design more adapted to sunglasses than to the usual Meta Quest glasses. The giant has called them Meta VR Glasses and its resemblance is greater than that of sunglasses with a slightly increased volume. Meta wants to offer a device completely autonomous, lightweight (100 grams) and to increase the size of your multimedia displays and games.

Meta wants to offer with these VR Glasses a giant screen for your plays or games. It works autonomously, like the Meta Quest that has brought so much success to the company, only with a more contained and easy-to-carry appearance and design.

Use two micro-OLED screens with 2,412 x 2,288 pixel resolution for each eyeand with a 120Hz refresh rate. These screens have been certified with Dolby Vision and they can work for mixed reality thanks to their front cameras that also capture the environment. These new Meta VR glasses have also achieved the certificate IMAX Enhacedwhich will allow you to enjoy content with the exclusive IMAX format with these glasses.

Meta VR Glasses incorporate Snapdragon Reality Elite and 12 GB of RAM

To achieve this size, Meta has introduced the processing in an external module connected by a cable to one of the temples of the glasses. The module has a Snapdragon Reality Elite processor, 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It also incorporates a 45 W battery capable of offering up to 3 hours of video playbackalthough it can also be used connected to the power.

A model that will arrive in the 2027 and that it will also be on pre-sale in the United States with a price of $1,299.
