MSI reduces the latency of AMD EXPO memories to the Ultra Low Latency level thanks to its new high efficiency profile





amd presented its new mode for overclocking in low latency memoriesan addition to the already known AMD EXPO that the manufacturer has called Ultra Low Latencyv. These modules DDR5 memory with this profile that reduces latency, also known as AMD EXPO ULLcan now be matched with modules AMD EXPO standard thanks to the new profile of MSI high efficiency that can be found on many of their motherboards.

MSI motherboards allow latency reduction even with standard AMD EXPO memories

The MSI motherboards compatible are able to identify these modules that can reduce latency, and in the section Click BIOS the label appears ULL next to the memory profile. The tests carried out with two memory kits of 32GB with a speed of 6,000 MT/sand a primary latency CL30have managed to reduce the time from 79.4 ns until the 71.6 ns. However, using a memory kit AMD EXPO ULL along with the mode MSI high efficiencyhas only managed to reduce latency in 0.3ns.

MSI offers four optimization modes to balance performance and stability

This mode of high performance has 4 options availableand each mode applies a different level of optimization to the memories. To obtain maximum performance you must choose the mode “Tighter”but if you prefer better stability you can choose the mode “Relax”. This is precisely because the MSI warns that tighter memory settings may result in system instability. The results obtained also have to do with the type of CPUthe motherboard where it is executed and of course the memory kits used.
