Noctua defends its identity and prioritizes advances in engineering and performance before visual design

Many manufacturers of cooling-related PC components are adapting their products to new trends, such as adding a screen in AiO liquid cooling. But the renowned Austrian manufacturer that has many of these components, Noctua has stated that it will not follow this path to join current trends with this type of products. The statements come from Jakob Dellinger, Noctua’s product managerwhich ensures that the company invest the minimum in visual resources.

Noctua rules out LCD screens, RGB lighting and white fans, at least for the moment

Specifically, Jakob Dellinger has stated in this interview that his main objective is not “make things look pretty”ensuring that this investment is minimal for the Austrian brand. So probably in the next updates of Noctua’s RLs and air coolers Let’s still not see LCD screens, RGB lighting or white heatsinks and/or fans.

Noctua already tried it with the white color several years ago, presenting prototypes of fans under the chromax.white range at COMPUTEX 2019. But as you already told us about the chromax.black, dying a fan white is not just about changing the pigment, and finally this series is removed from Noctua roadmap after multiple delays.

Absolute priority to engineering and acoustic performance over aesthetics

Jakob Dellinger has said that prefers to invest in validating the tools for a new fan designrather than using this investment to produce their products with another color. Some statements that seem to refer to the fact that, at least for the moment, Noctua will continue with its characteristic brown and beige color next to the black of the chromax.black series.
