Samsung presents the W27, its foldable with gold finishes, 5,000 mAh battery and satellite calls
Samsung has presented in China the W27a folding book-type mobile that combines gold finishes with satellite connectivity. The model uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy and comes with 16 GB of RAM in both versions.
The device belongs to the series developed with China Telecom and shares the base of the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. Its launch adds a specific design for the Chinese market, communication services through Tiantong and a presentation that includes accessories.
Gold finishes and a 215 gram body
The W27 will be sold in blue and red, called Jihu Blue and Jixia Hong. Both combine the colored back with the gold frame, details on the camera module and the W series emblem on the back. Samsung also incorporates animated backgrounds and its own visual elements.
The frame uses aluminum armor and the outer cover and the back cover use Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3. Under the folding screen there is a reinforcement that combines a titanium alloy film and a plate of this metal. Samsung attributes greater panel rigidity and lower fold visibility to this structure.

The battery has a typical capacity of 5,000 mAh and supports 45W wired charging. Samsung includes a charger of that power in the package, as well as the cable and a magnetic Kevlar case.
The W27 incorporates One UI 9, based on Android 17. The interface allows you to split the interior screen between two or three applications and drag content between windows. Galaxy AI adds photo editing using text instructions and translation with information visible on both screens.
Samsung allows you to choose whether the data from the AI functions is processed on the device or in the cloud, within the options available for each service. Brand cites Knox Vault and KEEP to protect local information. Some Galaxy AI features require a Samsung account and availability may vary by region, carrier, and system version.
Satellite and eSIM calls for Chinese operators
The Tiantong connection allows you to make calls and send messages via satellite when there is no ground coverage. Its use requires contracting the corresponding service with a compatible operator; The presence of hardware does not alone activate communications.
Samsung announces a promotion with one year of access, 300 calling minutes and 100 satellite messages for buyers who meet their conditions.
