SharmEmu can now emulate 8 PlayStation 5 games in full

Lately, several PlayStation 5 emulator projects have begun to show promising results when it comes to running games from that console on PC or even Xbox.

SharpEmu is one of those emulators that today has shown some interesting advances that open the door to play Sony console titles on PC.

On its website, SharpEmu has a list of the games tested (58 in total) and their operation, indicating if they are 100% playable, if the game itself starts, if it reaches menus or if it allows playing. A total of 17 games can already be executed and played and, even of all of them, as of today there are 8 games that are completely playable:

  • Castlevania Dominus Collection
  • Dead Cells
  • DOOM + DOOM II
  • Dreaming Sarah
  • NEW Joe & Mac – Caveman Ninja
  • quake
  • Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered
  • void tRrLM();++ //Void Terrarium++

We can see that these are quite modest games, many are re-releases of titles with decades behind them and others have 2D graphics, so it seems that there is still a lot of work to be done to see, who knows, an emulated GTA VI. Meanwhile, games like Demon’s Souls, 6 years old and with a more advanced 3D engine, can be played, although with quite a few graphical glitches and poor performance.
