SteelSeries launches the new Sensei Pro and Rival Pro with 8,000 Hz UWB connection and hot-swappable batteries
SteelSeries has commemorated its 25 years by renewing two of its most renowned peripheral families. The company has presented the Sensei Pro and Rival Pro rangesfour world-oriented wireless mice gaming. They stand out, above all, for including ultra-wideband or UWB connectivity. The idea is to guarantee a real polling rate of 8,000 Hz, avoiding interference and saturation of the 2.4 GHz.
This is important, above all, because stability is affected by the saturation of keyboards, headphones and wireless networks that share the 2.4 GHz spectrum, especially in games with many users. To overcome these interferences, the UWB connection operates in a dedicated band between 6.4 GHz and 9.056 GHz with a bandwidth twenty times greater. Thus, the wireless link transmits positional information without losses or unexpected increases in input latency.

If the battery runs out, it can be hot replaced
Maintain continuous sampling at 8,000 Hz generates significant energy consumptionas you can imagine. This is a problem in long games. And what is the brand’s solution? Basically, the mice integrate the Infinite Power system. This means that the mice have two removable batteries that can be hot-swapped while one of them is recharged outside the peripheral.
In the tracking section, the range debuts the TrueMove 42K optical sensor, capable of sustaining accelerations of 70G and travel speeds of 800 inches per second. As for the external construction, it reduces the weight to 53 grams in the standard versions and 49 grams in the reduced Mini formats, maintaining the ambidextrous symmetry in the Sensei line and the ergonomic grip in the Rival.
The main buttons use optical switches with a durability of one hundred million keystrokes and an activation latency of 0.35 milliseconds. Additionally, the SteelSeries GG software suite allows you to calibrate takeoff distance and synchronize sensitivity profiles between different games.
All models are priced at 199.99 euros in the brand’s online store. There are no differences between the standard or mini version.
