The Dreame A4 AWD Pro tackles 90% slopes and cuts 0cm from the edge

Dreame has taken advantage of IFA 2026 to present the A4 AWD Pro seriesa new family of robotic lawn mowers intended for large gardens and land with steep slopes. There will be models prepared for surfaces of up to 3,500 and 5,000 square meters, both with independent four-wheel drive.

The proposal combines LiDAR navigation, RTK positioning and cameras with artificial intelligence. It also incorporates an extendable cutting arm that can bring the blades closer to the edge of the grass. Dreame will launch the range in Europe during the first quarter of 2027, although it has not yet announced its prices.

Four perception systems without perimeter cable

OmniSense 4.0 brings together a 3D LiDAR with 360 degree coverage, RTK positioning dual via satellite and network, binocular vision with AI and two side sensors. This combination allows you to create the garden map and work without installing a physical cable around the plot.

The cameras can recognize more than 300 kinds of obstacles. The lighting Smart Fill Light maintains detection when light falls, while the side infrared sensor locates people, pets and small animals close to boundaries. A second ToF sensor calculates short distances, identifies unevenness and allows driving near the edges.

The user will be able to store two maps, divide the terrain into several zones and choose cutting patterns. Planning can also be adapted to weather conditions. Dreame has not detailed what services or data the robot needs to apply these settings.

All-wheel drive for 90% grades

Each wheel has its own high torque motor. All-wheel drive allows you to cope slopes up to 90%, equivalent to 42 degreesand overcome 7 cm obstacles. These are figures announced by the manufacturer that will have to be compared on wet grass, loose ground and irregular slopes.

AeroTurn controls the active direction so that the robot can cut both vertically and laterally on a slope. It also smoothes turns and reduces marks that can appear when a heavy machine changes direction over the same point. Power is provided by a 324 Wh battery.

One arm carries the blades to the edge

EdgeMaster 4.0 Moves a flexible arm laterally to cut along walls, fences and trees. Dreame announces a cut at a distance of 0 cm from the edge, even when following curved paths. The practical usefulness will depend on the shape of the boundary and whether there is a level surface on which the robot can rest.

The cutting assembly uses two floating discs with 12 blades and covers a width of 40 cm. The discs adapt to changes in the height of the terrain, while the plastic blades seek to reduce noise, vibrations and replacement frequency.

The 4G connectivity It allows you to locate the lawn mower, receive warnings if someone picks it up and view video in real time. It also includes person detection, patrol mode and surveillance functions. Its IPX6 certification allows it to be cleaned with a hose.

The A4 AWD Pro will arrive in Europe during the first quarter of 2027 in versions for 3,500 and 5,000 square meters. Dreame will communicate its prices and the final configuration of each model later.
