The new 80 Plus Ruby certification guarantees efficiencies up to 96.5% in food sources for data centers
Clearesult, the entity in charge of the 80 Plus certifications that verifies the efficiency of the power supplies, has published a new level within this scale that is placed above the 80 Plus Titanium and 80 Plus Platinum.
80 Plus Ruby It is the new efficiency level for food sources oriented to systems Data center with redundant sources. To fulfill this new level of efficiency, server feeding sources must achieve an impressive efficiency of 96.5% of the energy converted when they are 50% load with a voltage of 230 V. With that voltage, the minimum efficiency required is 90% and 91% for 5% and 10% loads respectively. With 95% for 20% and 92% for 100% of the load.
80 Plus Ruby only applies to sources that operate at 230V, or models of 277V / 480V AC and 380V DCand in all cases of Redundant type. In cases of 277V / 480V and 380V, the sources must offer an efficiency of 90% to 5% load, 91% to 10% load, 95% to 20% load and 96.5% for 50%. In the case of 100% load, the minimal efficiency required is 92%.
