Wistron Dual Fusion: A curious laptop concept with removable portable console
Wistron, a Taiwanese manufacturer of electronic devices that usually manufactures for other brands, has revealed a curious concept of laptop called Dual Fusion, which combines a conventional laptop with a small portable console in the trackpad area.
The concept reminds a lot of Acer Project DualPlay that the company taught us in the IFA of Berlin last year of 2024, but in this case we have an integrated screen in Gamepad himself forming a kind of Nintendo Switch or portable console type La Steam Deck or Asus Rog Ally.
The screen would work as trackpad when integrated into the laptop. By having 360 degree hinges, the buttons and joysticks are hidden against the laptop itself, and you just have to remove the module and turn the screen to play.
It seems that, at least for the moment, Wistron has no plans to make this design of the dual fusion come true, so there are no details about the hardware that would integrate something like that. So they show the images of the concept, the device would need two sets of independent hardware to handle the laptop and the “console”.
The console hardware would not need too much power, since it would work as a streaming device and the laptop itself would be in charge of executing the games.
