Akasa presents the passive Mini-ITX Euler MX2 case with support from LGA115X to LGA1851 for 198 euros
Akasa has presented the Euler MX2a new case for motherboards in Mini-ITX format built in aluminum with a black anodized finish and designed to work without any type of fan. The chassis uses its own metal structure and a series of external fins to dissipate the heat generated by the processor without the need for dedicated fans.
It is a box designed for professional systems that have to operate continuously with low maintenance, such as POS, signage controllers with screens, edge, etc. By not having fans, possible problems due to malfunction or lack of cooling in the event of failures are avoided.
The Euler MX2 uses a spring-loaded mounting mechanism designed for various Intel sockets. This compatibility goes back to the ancient LGA115X and LGA1200passing through the LGA1700until the new socket LGA1851. However, due to the limitations of passive dissipation, the case only supports processors with a maximum TDP of 35 Wwhich restricts its use to low consumption ranges (Intel T series).
For storage, the case features two internal bays for 2.5 inch SATA drives with a maximum thickness of 9.5 mm. For configurations that do not require 2.5″ drives and only use the motherboard’s M.2 storage, the brand has also launched the Euler CMXa smaller version with 4 liters of volume.
Instead of requiring an internal power supply, the box integrates a 220W DC-DC converter. This module delivers the usual +12V, +5V, +3.3V lines and includes the standard 24-pin ATX and 4+4-pin wiring for the CPU. The current input is via a 4-pin DIN socket at 12 V, so we still need an external transformer. The converter features overvoltage and overload protections, and is certified to operate in a temperature range of -25°C to 70°C.

In total, its measurements are 272.6 x 205 x 92.6 mm (5.2 liters of volume) and it has anchors VESA. On the front you can see two USB 3.0 (3.2 Gen 1 5 Gbps) Type-A ports, the power button and the status LEDs. The rear part includes space for the plate outputs and two areas for RS-232 serial portstwo holes for external Wi-Fi antennas, the DIN power socket and a Kensington lock slot.
The Akasa Euler MX2 will go on sale in Europe with a price starting from 198 euros.
