Super Flower launches six LEADEX VIII Platinum Pro Premium with up to 1,200 W in 125 mm depth
Six power supplies make up the new LEADEX VIII Platinum Pro Premium by Super Flower. The brand combines three powers, from 850 to 1,200 W, with black and white finishes, and maintains a depth of 125 mm even in the highest power model.
Three powers in a 125mm housing
The LEADEX VIII Platinum Pro Premium is offered with 850, 1,000 and 1,200 W. Each one has a black and white version, so the range adds up. six references. They all measure 125 × 150 × 86mmwith depth as the first figure. For those who build a PC with little space between the source and the drive cage, those 125 mm leave more room to bend and organize the cables than a deeper source.
The figure should also not be confused with automatic compatibility with any small box. These are ATX sources: Before choosing one, you must check the space reserved for that format and the free space to connect the modular cables. Super Flower already published the same dimensions and three power levels in its previous LEADEX VIII Platinum Pro.
On the 12V line, the sheet indicates a maximum combined output of 849.6W for the 850W version, 999.6W for the 1000W version and 1198.8W for the 1200W version. These are the electrical figures declared for each model, not an independent measurement of performance under load.
LLC Controller and Cybenetics Platinum Efficiency
Super Flower points out as a component of the series a LLC controller manufactured by TSMC. The manufacturer attributes it to the regulation of energy conversion when the equipment load changes. That this integrated circuit comes from a TSMC factory does not mean that the Taiwanese company manufactures the complete source nor does it allow, in itself, to quantify an improvement over the previous generation.
The brand also describes a double layer main transformer with integrated resonant inductor. Around him he uses Infineon MOSFETs and Japanese brand capacitors rated for 105°C.
The three powers appear with Cybenetics Platinum efficiency certification. The sheet places this category at an overall efficiency of at least 91% and less than 93% with a 230 V supply, and in a range of 89% to 91% at 115 V.
One 12V-2×6 connector and fully modular wiring
The family follows ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 specifications and incorporates a native 12V-2×6 cable for a compatible graphics card. Super Flower uses a purple tip on the 12+4 pin connector to help visually check that it has been fully inserted.
The configuration is completely modular. The power panel uses nine-pin universal connectors, Super Flower’s own arrangement that allows CPU, PCIe, and peripheral cables to be routed into compatible sockets.
All three variants include a 20+4-pin main board connector, two CPU power cables, and a 12V-2×6. The 1,000 and 1,200 W ones have four 6+2-pin PCIe connectors; the 850 W one has three. The manufacturer’s list of cables also includes eight SATA and four Molex connectors per model.
Semi-passive mode and electrical protections
Refrigeration uses a 120mm fan with an ECO mode which stops it when the load allows semi-passive operation. The manufacturer does not publish in the advertisement a temperature or power threshold applicable to each version.
The sheet lists protections against overvoltage, overcurrent, excess power, short circuit, undervoltage and excess temperature, among others. Also indicates 100 to 240 V input with active power factor correction. They are characteristics declared by the brand; The announcement does not offer a technical review of a commercial unit that allows the action thresholds of each protection to be assessed.
Super Flower displays all six power and color combinations in its catalog and presents them as a released series. However, it has not published official prices in the statement nor has it specified which distributors will have each variant. There is also no confirmed Spanish availability date in the documentation consulted.
