The Teclast V16Q brings 2,560 × 1,600 pixels and 144 Hz to a 16-inch portable monitor
Teclast has launched the V16Qa 16-inch portable monitor with an IPS panel, a resolution of 2,560 × 1,600 pixels and a frequency of up to 144 Hz. It uses a 16:10 format and has an integrated stand to place it next to a laptop or connect it to other compatible equipment.
The chosen connection affects the maximum frequency. 144 Hz is available via USB-C, while the Mini HDMI input reaches up to 130 Hz. The monitor also supports FreeSync to adapt the refresh rate to the signal of the connected equipment.
A 16-inch panel with 16:10 format
The screen adds height compared to a 16:9 panel of the same width. That space allows you to see more lines of a document or web page and fits with the format used by many work laptops.
The resolution of 2,560 × 1,600 pixels is distributed on a diagonal of 16 inches. Teclast advertises 100% coverage of the sRGB space, 10-bit color, and a Delta E offset of less than 2. These are the manufacturer’s stated specifications for the panel.
The advertised brightness reaches 490 nits and the contrast appears on the card as 1,200:1. There is also support for HDR10 signals. The screen thus has a high resolution for its size with a frequency higher than the 60 Hz common in many portable monitors.
USB-C to carry image and power through the same cable

The V16Q has two USB-C ports with video and power functions, one Mini HDMI input and one 3.5mm audio output. These connections allow it to be used with laptops, mini PCs and other devices that have a compatible image output.
The single cable option depends on the device you connect to. Your USB-C should provide video signal and enough power to power the monitor. If both conditions are met, the user can add the second display without connecting a separate power supply.
When using Mini HDMI, power must come via USB-C. The setup then requires two connections: one for the image and one for the power. It is a difference that should be taken into account when preparing the wiring, along with the 130 Hz limit of that input.
Teclast includes two speakers in the monitor itself. The 3.5mm output allows you to connect headphones or an external sound system when this is more convenient than using the built-in speakers.
Integrated stand and 75 × 75 mm VESA mount
The body has 9.5 mm thick and dimensions of 355 × 239 mm. The rear stand allows you to adjust the tilt and place the screen on a table without resorting to a separate stand.
For a fixed position, the monitor also has 75 × 75 mm VESA anchors. This possibility allows it to be installed on a compatible arm and keep the surface that the support would occupy free. The same monitor can be used again on its stand when it needs to be moved.
The international launch has been accompanied by a promotional price of $129.99 on Amazon (about 115 euros).
