Windows 11 updates for the Insiders channel with network speed test integrated into the taskbar
Microsoft keep updating your operating system Windows 11to which it adds new functions that are first tested in its preliminary channel. For users InsiderMicrosoft has released two new versions Windows 11 26100.7918 and 26200.7918 (KB5077241)which add new features. Among the most notable is one that has managed to attract the public’s attention, and that is that Microsoft has incorporated a speed test which you can run directly from the taskbar.
New speed test integrated into the taskbar
Directly with a right click from the network settings of the taskbar, a menu will appear where you can run this network test. The test opens in system default browserand will measure the speed of the connections either by cable, Wi-Fi or mobile network. Microsoft wants to help you recognize connectivity problems and check network performance quickly and easily.

- Native Sysmon: Windows incorporates Sysmon functionality in an integrated way for the first time. Capture system events to detect threats using custom configuration files. It is disabled by default.
- Rapid Equipment Recovery (QMR): This feature is now automatically enabled on Windows Professional devices that are not domain joined or managed by companies.
- Identity Management (Enter ID): Windows now translates the security identifiers (SIDs) of Microsoft Enter ID groups and roles into human-readable names for use in file permissions and local access control.
Improvements in Applications and Settings
- Backup for Organizations: Improved the restore experience when logging in for the first time on Entra-joined hybrid devices, cloud PCs, and multi-user environments.
- Camera Settings: It is now possible to control the pan and tilt of compatible cameras directly from Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Cameras.
- Widgets: Widget settings no longer open in a dialog, but as a complete page within the application itself.
- Wallpapers: Added native support for setting images in .webp format as desktop background.

- Taskbar: In “non-combined” mode, windows of the same application are no longer moved en masse to the overflow area, optimizing the available space.
- File Explorer: * Added “Extract All” option to the command bar when browsing non-.ZIP archive folders.
- Improved reliability when displaying devices on the Network page.
- Power Upgrades: Display performance has been optimized to reduce sleep resume time on heavily loaded systems.
- Emojis: Version is introduced Emoji 16.0 with new icons in all major categories.
Corrections and Reliability
- Improved responsiveness of the Windows Update page and search in Task Manager.
- Greater reliability when sending large files using Nearby Sharing.
- Improvements to the print service (spoolsv.exe) to avoid slowdowns during high-volume printing.
At the moment, this new feature along with the rest that we have told you about is being tested in the regular Microsoft channels. The developer of Windows 11 is preparing for the next big updatein which we will surely see many new features.
