ASUS presents its new 2.8K OLED tablet and the first WiFi 8 mesh router with a commercial name at Computex 2026
ASUS has taken advantage of Computex 2026 to present two products: the ASUS Padits return to the tablet market with a high-end OLED screen, and the ZenWiFi BN12the company’s first WiFi 8 mesh router with a definitive commercial name. Both devices arrive after months in which ASUS had focused its announcements on laptops and desktops, and represent a clear commitment to two categories that the company had not touched in a while. The presentation also includes a new variant of the V400 AiO with a 27-inch screen.
The ASUS Pad is perhaps the most striking surprise of the entire block. The tablet features a dual-layer OLED display. 12.2 inches at 2.8K resolution and 144 Hzwith TÜV Rheinland certification due to low blue light emission and a screen-to-body ratio of 92%. The profile of the device is only 6.5 millimeters and the total weight is 523 grams, making it a tablet that is light and comfortable to hold despite its generous screen. The chosen processor is MediaTek Dimensity 8300, and the 9,000 mAh battery Reaches 50% charge in just 30 minutes with fast charging.
A tablet designed for both consumption and productivity
The multimedia section is well resolved: four speakers with Dolby Atmos, support for ASUS GlideX to connect to other devices in the ecosystem, Google Circle for Search and facial login. The whole points to a device aimed at both the enjoyment of content and light productivity in mobility, without giving up a top-level screen that has nothing to envy of the most established rivals on the market.
It is a significant return for ASUS in the tablet category, a segment that the company had practically left aside in recent years while the market remained in the hands of a few manufacturers. That it returns with a dual-layer, 144 Hz OLED screen on the first attempt says a lot about the company’s intentions regarding this segment.
ZenWiFi BN12: WiFi 8 comes to the home with first and last name
In the networks section, ASUS presents the ZenWiFi BN12 as its first WiFi 8 mesh solution with a finished product and commercial name. At the previous CES, the company had only shown the ROG NeoCore concept as a technology demonstration without confirmed availability, so the BN12 represents the first real and concrete step towards WiFi 8 in consumer homes.
The figures are overwhelming– Combined speeds of up to 19 Gbps, coverage of up to 651 square meters in the two-pack, dual 10G ports, intelligent network optimization and advanced security features built in as standard. It is designed for homes with many devices connected simultaneously, an increasingly common scenario with the proliferation of AI devices that require a constant and stable connection to function well.
Complete the block V400 AiO (VM471QA)a new variant of the ASUS all-in-one with a 27-inch screen and Snapdragon platform, which expands the existing range with a larger format and greater AI processing capabilities compared to previous models in the series, and which also officially debuts at Computex 2026.
