Microsoft expands layoffs to 4,800 workers, with Xbox as the most affected division
Xbox is suffering a restructuring to enhance your business, and offer a complete ecosystem looking to the future Xbox Next or also known as Project Helix. Well, this restructuring seems to include the layoff of 3,200 Xbox workersincluding up to 4 studios closed completely, but this is not all. Microsoft (Xbox parent company) has announced that in total they will fire 4,800 employeeswhich means up to a 2.1% of its total workforce.
Microsoft expands layoffs beyond Xbox with another 1,600 employees affected
Within these 4,800 employees are already included 3,200 from the Xbox divisionbut Microsoft will dispense with 1,600 more employees where the majority belonged to their commercial division.
