The ASM58012, key to expanding storage beyond the chipset
The ASMedia ASM58012 controller acts as a PCIe switch that allows you to multiply the available storage connections without depending exclusively on the lines offered by the AMD X870E chipset. In the case of Edition 20, this chip manages four slots: M.2_3, M.2_4 and M.2_5, accessible directly on the board, and DIMM.2_1, which connects through the ROG Q-DIMM.2 card. All of them support Key M type units in 2242, 2260, 2280 and 22110 formats.
