This Computex 2026, AMD launched its new AMD EXPO Ultra Low Latency RAM profile technology, promising performance improvements of up to 4% over previous EXPO profiles.

Now, GIGABYTE wanted to quickly provide support by launching its latest BIOS update based on the microcode AMD AGESA 1.3.0.1, Available for its entire line of motherboards with AM5 socket. The novelty of this version is, precisely, the compatibility with the new AMD EXPO Ultra Low Latency profile certification.

New ultra-low latency EXPO profiles reduce memory access by 5 to 7 nanoseconds

Until now, AMD EXPO technology allowed you to apply overclocking profiles with a single click to ensure specific speed and stability. With this update and the use of memory kits compatible with EXPO ULL certification, the company promises a latency reduction between 5 and 7 ns when compared to the results offered by a standard EXPO 6000 profile. These data should be in line with the promise of 4 more FPS in games that AMD made during the presentation.

To activate this feature, users with compatible memories will only have to enable the AMD EXPO function within the GIGABYTE BIOS and thus apply the parameters automatically without the need to configure voltages or other values ​​manually.

In addition to AMD’s latency improvements, GIGABYTE maintains its own High Bandwidth Technology function in this BIOS version. This is an automated optimization system that uses a validation database to adjust DDR5 memory latencies and the parameters of the memory controller integrated into the processor. A technology similar to what AMD EXPO Ultra Low Latency promises for memories without this type of profiles.
