AMD would bring RDNA 5+ to its APUs with Zen 7 cores in 2029, according to a well-known leaker
It seems that AMD has not made the leap to its graphics architecture RDNA 4introducing it in the GPUs of its current generation APUs. The most powerful ones have the architecture RDNA 3.5present in the Ryzen AI 300 and 400 Series processors and in the more powerful Ryzen AI MAX of the 300 and 400 series. For the next generation RDNA 5+ seems like we will have to wait until 2029since it seems AMD plans to introduce it in the integrated GPUs of its next processors with Zen 7 cores.
AMD would bring RDNA 5+ to Zen 7 Grimlock APUs in 2029
It has been the known Kepler_L2 who has stated that AMD will bring RDNA 5+ to the Zen 7 APUs known as Grimlock in 2029. A statement in response to whether AMD will have APUs with RDNA 5 in the processors that will be launched in 2028. But Kepler_L2 has not made reference to RDNA 5, but to its advanced version + which according to his words will arrive a year later.
For the moment, and as expected, AMD has not confirmed this and it is just rumors that come from a renowned leaker, a reason to take it into account. As has been implied, RDNA 5 may not reach integrated GPUs directly, waiting for an adapted version such as RDNA 5+. In the current generation there have been rumors of integrated graphics with RDNA 4ma reduced and adapted version that can also make use of FSR 4.
RDNA 5 may not reach AMD integrated graphics directly
But AMD has also promised that it will make its Latest scaling technology compatible with RDNA 3.5. A situation that leaves many doubts as to whether RDNA 4 will appear, or even if RDNA 5 will reach the brand’s APUs. What we do know is that if this is the case, there are still many months before we can see it.
