Anthropic brings Claude Cowork to mobile and web so your sessions remain active outside the desktop

Anthropic has announced the arrival of Claude Cowork to mobile and weban extension with which your agentic work tool is no longer focused on the laptop or the desktop app. The company explains that, from now on, sessions, files and tasks can be followed from different devices, so that work started on the computer can be reviewed or redirected from the phone without losing context.

The feature will begin to roll out in beta in the coming weeks, first for Max plan users and later for other plans. According to Anthropic, Cowork is designed to delegate entire tasks in Claude, not only to ask for specific answers. In this environment, the system can work with files, calendar, email, messaging apps, the web and other connected tools until a specific order is completed.

The company claims that more than 90% of Cowork use is not related to programming. Instead, Anthropic places the bulk of the activity in everyday knowledge workespecially in business operations and content creation. Among the examples it offers are the reconciliation of quarterly expenses, the preparation of a briefing document from emails and transcripts or the conversion of a folder of contracts into a renewal follow-up with identified risks.

What changes with the expansion to mobile and browser?

Anthropic summarizes this release in three main changes. The first is that work follows the userso that a task started on the desktop can be resumed on the mobile or reviewed from the web. The second is that tasks continue to run in the background even if the user closes the laptop, something that also applies to scheduled tasks, which no longer require a device to remain connected. The third is that decisions that require human judgment continue to reach the user for approval.

That means that Claude can move forward on his own for hours, but when he reaches a point where he needs to choose a direction or validate a result, the consultation is transferred to the telephone. Anthropic insists that nothing is definitively sent or executed without user review and approval, an idea with which it tries to distance between automation and total delegation.

The arrival on the web also opens Cowork to users who could not install the desktop application. In parallel, Anthropic unifies the start of chat and Cowork on a single cover and makes projects and artifacts share space between desktop, browser and mobile. Anthropic reinforces its business offensive with more continuity between devices

At the beginning of the year it already presented its private marketplace of plugins to turn Claude into a more specialized agent by teams and departments. Previously, the company had also expanded connectors so Claude could read mail, files and calendars within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Outlook and OneDrive.

With Cowork on mobile and web, Anthropic takes another step in that same direction. The company not only presents a chatbot with access to tools, but an environment where Claude can maintain persistent work between devices and continue advancing even if the user is no longer in front of the computer. Access begins from the main claude.ai screen or from the app’s sidebar on iOS and Android, while the most complete experience will continue to be in the desktop application.
