Apple presents the iPhone Duo, its first foldable with a 7.6-inch interior screen

Apple has presented the iPhone Duoits first foldable phone. The device opens like a book and combines a 5.4-inch outer screen with a 7.6-inch flexible inner panel. The two screens use OLED technology, ProMotion up to 120 Hz, always-on mode and a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits outdoors.

The final name is iPhone Duo. Apple will offer it in night sky and star white finishes, with capacities of 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB. Reservations in Spain will begin on October 16 and will be available on October 23.

5.4 and 7.6 inch screens with ProMotion

The outer screen is a panel 5.4-inch Super Retina XDR OLEDwith a resolution of 1,398 by 2,034 pixels. When you open the phone, another screen appears 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR OLEDwith a resolution of 1,878 by 2,670 pixels and a nanotextured finish to reduce reflections.

The two screens incorporate Dynamic IslandProMotion technology with adaptive frequency up to 120 Hz and always-on mode. They reach 1,600 nits of maximum brightness with HDR content and a peak of 3,000 nits outdoors. The interior screen is also compatible with the Apple Pencil USB-C.

Open, the iPhone Duo measures 16.46 centimeters wide, 11.78 centimeters high and 5.2 millimeters thick. Closed, it measures 8.41 centimeters wide and 11.3 millimeters thick. Its weight is 254 grams. The frame and hinge cover use grade 5 titanium, while the exterior is protected with Ceramic Shield 2 on the front and Ceramic Shield on the rear. It also has IP68 certification against water and dust.

The identification system is Touch IDwith the fingerprint reader integrated into the side button. The phone also dispenses with the physical card tray and uses eSIM exclusively, with the possibility of maintaining two active lines.

A20 Pro and C2 modem shared with the iPhone 18 Pro

The iPhone Duo incorporates the A20 Pro chipwith a six-core CPU, a seven-core GPU with Neural Accelerators, and a dual 16-core Neural Engine. Apple has installed a vapor chamber to control the temperature during demanding tasks and long gaming sessions.

Connectivity is in charge of the C2 modem and N1 wireless chip from Apple. The phone supports 5G, WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6, Thread and the second generation of the ultra-wideband chip.

iOS 27 It adapts the interface to the change between the two screens and allows you to use two applications simultaneously through Split View. The phone can be used closed, fully open, propped at different angles or placed upright for video calls, media playback and Sleep mode.

Two 48 Mpx Fusion cameras and an internal camera under the screen

The rear system consists of a main camera 48 Mpx Fusion with f/1.6 aperture and a 48 Mpx Ultra Wide Angle Fusion with f/2.2 aperture and a 120-degree field of view. The main camera allows you to obtain a x2 zoom of optical quality through a 12 Mpx cutout, although the phone does not incorporate a dedicated telephoto lens like the iPhone 18 Pro.

The iPhone Duo has two front cameras. There is a camera on the outside screen. 12 Mpx Center Stagewhile the interior screen hides a FaceTime camera under the panel itself. This interior camera remains invisible when not in use and allows you to make video calls with the device open. Apple has not indicated its resolution, although it confirms an ƒ/1.8 aperture and 1080p video recording at 30 or 60 frames per second.

Double battery and up to 44 hours of video

The brand has divided the battery between the two halves of the device. The company advertises up to 24 hours of normal use44 hours of video playback on the outer screen and 31 hours using the inner screen. In streaming playback it reaches 37 hours with the exterior screen and 26 hours with the interior screen.

Wired charging reaches 50% in about 20 minutes with an adapter of at least 60W. Via MagSafe or Qi2 it supports up to 25W and can reach 50% in about 30 minutes with an adapter of at least 35W.

From 2,339 euros in Spain and launch on October 23

The iPhone Duo is part of 2,339 euros in Spain with 256 GB of storage. The 512 GB version costs 2,589 eurosthe 1TB model goes up to 3,089 euros and the 2TB configuration reaches 3,839 euros. Prices are identical for the night sky and star white finishes.

Reservations will begin on October 16 at 2:00 p.m. and the first units will be available on October 23.
