GIGABYTE already has BIOS for the Intel LGA 1700 of 2027 in all its B760 and H610

GIGABYTE has announced that all of its motherboards with B760 and H610 chipset will receive support for upcoming processors Intel with LGA 1700 socket. The BIOSes are now available on its support website and the manufacturer places the arrival of these CPUs at the beginning of 2027. The confirmation covers both models that use DDR4 memory and those equipped with DDR5.

The news specifies a possibility of updating for those who keep one of those plates. Until now, information was known about another revision of Raptor Lake for next year, but GIGABYTE provides a different piece of information: it identifies two complete families of boards and assures that it has prepared its BIOS for the new chips. Intel has not yet presented the processors or published their specifications.

BIOS available for B760 and H610 with DDR4 and DDR5

The manufacturer’s statement includes its entire B760 and H610 range, without limiting support to a selection of models. Anyone who has a board from these families must download the version corresponding to their specific reference and revision before installing one of the future CPUs. GIGABYTE indicates that updates can now be obtained from the support pages.

The announced compatibility also includes variants with DDR4. It is an important detail because it allows you to conserve the memory installed on a compatible computer, as long as the board supports the specific processor that is finally marketed. DDR5 versions are also included. The note does not list CPUs or relate each model to a specific BIOS version, so that check will still be necessary when Intel releases final references.

GIGABYTE talks about support from day one for both series of motherboards. Their statement refers to their own products and does not allow compatibility to be extended to boards from other brands. Nor does it mention what will happen to the Z690, Z790 or B660 chipsets. Although they share a socket with the B760 and H610, their manufacturers must confirm the corresponding updates separately.

The manufacturer aims for 2027 without revealing the name of the CPUs

GIGABYTE text places the premiere of the new processors at the beginning of 2027 and describes them only as future CPUs for LGA 1700. There is no commercial name or the name Raptor Lake Next. The relationship with that family is plausible due to the calendar and the platform, but remains an interpretation until Intel officially identifies the models.

There was already information about a new Raptor Lake revision for this socket. Those articles discussed the expected existence of the chips and their continuity with previous generations. Today’s news is in the public preparation of GIGABYTE boards: a manufacturer confirms support for specific models in its catalog and offers the BIOS before the CPUs arrive.

What changes for those who have an LGA 1700 PC

The LGA 1700 socket debuted with Alder Lake and continued with Raptor Lake and its subsequent revamp. The B760 and H610 boards belong to that platform, so A new compatible generation would extend the upgrade options without changing boards. In DDR4 equipment I would also avoid replacing the memory with DDR5 modules as a precondition for mounting the future CPU.

This advantage will depend on the processor chosen, the BIOS version installed and the performance of each board. The announcement confirms GIGABYTE’s compatibility work, but does not measure the performance that will be gained compared to current equipment. We will have to wait for Intel’s presentation to know if the new references justify the update in each case.

BIOSes for B760 and H610 are available now; The compatible CPUs, still without an official name in the statement, are expected in early 2027.
