Motorola presents the Edge 70 Plus at IFA 2026: 200 MP camera, 6,500 mAh battery and 144 Hz screen

Motorola has taken advantage of IFA 2026 to launch a new mid-range smartphone. It is about the Edge 70 Plus. The proposal from the Lenovo-owned brand seeks to offer a complete multimedia experience, betting on a four-curve design on its front and rear edges. We have been able to have it in hand and it really is a very attractive device, which transmits good sensations in the hands.

As we have been told, it includes a 6,500 mAh battery which promises very generous autonomy, especially in common tasks such as navigation, video playback or even games. More specifically, it allows up to 34 hours of continuous video streaming or 42 hours of phone calls with a single recharge cycle.

To shorten waiting times, the device has 45W TurboPower fast charging. Bypass charging mode supplies power directly to components while gaming, avoiding overheating of the battery and protecting it from long-term physical degradation. Obviously, autonomy depends on other components, such as the processor.

The chosen chip is the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3

Inside the terminal we find the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. As we said, this influences consumption and autonomy. Well, Motorola highlights that it chooses this SoC because it balances energy consumption well with graphics power and the processing of everyday tasks.

The processor is accompanied by 8 GB LPDDR5X RAM with support for dynamic optimization and options of 128 or 256 GB of storage. A vapor chamber cooling system is responsible for dissipating the heat generated during the most demanding multitasking sessions.

The camera shoots up to 200 MP

The rear photography system is headed by a 200-megapixel main camera with optical stabilization and ten-fold zoom. Motorola reminds us that it is the highest resolution used by the brand to date.

Unfortunately, the company has gone for a dedicated macro lens, which generally doesn’t do much. It also includes an algorithm-assisted processing engine that adjusts details automatically. If we turn it around, in the front camera we have 32 megapixels capable of automatically switching to wide angle mode when the phone is turned horizontally to facilitate group portraits.

Large phone with an AMOLED panel, but with military certification

The panel 6.78-inch Extreme AMOLED It is generous in terms of dimensions. However, it arrives with curved edges on its four sides, something that makes the terminal quite stylish despite being large. Something that Motorola highlights is the color calibration validated by Pantone laboratories.

The display offers a smooth 144Hz refresh rate to reduce eye strain and motion blur in supported titles. The acoustic section equips stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and high-resolution audio certification to improve immersion in audiovisual content.

Finally, the construction of the chassis has been designed to obtain military durability that certifies that the device will function correctly, even in complicated situations, such as high temperatures or high humidity. In addition, the front is protected against everyday bumps and scratches by a sheet of Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

And when can it be purchased? The brand has told us that the Motorola Edge 70 Plus will be available in some European countries in the coming weeks. Regarding the price, for the moment, Motorola has not said anything.
